Getting your car painted in Long Beach

When it comes to the paint job, understandably car owners can be demanding. Especially when it comes to getting a dent fixed or panels repainted after an accident. Many drivers have plenty of questions when there's damage on their car, which is why our Long Beach auto body shop thought it might be a good idea to put your mind at ease. Here are some frequently asked questions at our body shop when it comes paintwork.

What kind of paint do you use?

We like our environment and try to do our best to minimize our impact on it by using water based, environmentally friendly paint. BASF Glasurit paint is approved by all luxury brands including Porsche, Audi, Lexus, Bentley, BMW, Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz. It’s a top of the line paint and looks great no matter what make your vehicle is.

Will the paint match?

Today's modern factory finishes incorporate multiple layers of highly specialized paints. We always do our best to match the paint to your vehicle. We take special pride in our ability to match factory finishes as one of the most most important steps in the repair process. Even if your vehicle's paint has been faded by the elements, we start with a factory paint code and tint from there to get a great match.

Do you do paintless dent repairs?

We use a specialty contractor for paintless dent removal. So if your car is in for an insurance claim and you have any additional dings or dents you'd like repaired, talk to one of our friendly estimators who can get a quote for you on these repairs.

Can I wash my car after it's been painted?

RECOMMENDATIONS AND PRECAUTIONS IN THE FIRST 30 DAYS DO · Wash the vehicle by hand with cool water and a very mild car wash solution using a soft cloth or sponge. · Always use clean fresh water. · Wash your vehicle in the shade DON'T · Do not use a commercial car wash. Stiff brushes or sponges could mar the finish and damage the surface. · Do not "dry wipe" your vehicle. Dry wiping can scratch the finish. · Do not drive on gravel roads. Chipping the finish is easily done in the first 30 days. · Avoid parking under trees and utility lines which are likely to attract birds. Bird droppings have a high acid content and will damage a freshly painted surface. Also, tree sap can mar or spot a freshly painted surface. · Do not spill gasoline, oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, or windshield solvent on the new finish. · Do not scrape ice or snow from the newly painted surface. RECOMMENDATIONS AND PRECAUTIONS IN THE FIRST 90 DAYS DON'T · Do not wax or polish the vehicle. This will allow the finish to dry and harden completely.

Do you do complete paint jobs?

Not ordinarily as they can be very costly and take weeks. When we do paint work we de-trim all removable components like bumpers, glass, and headlights in order to get the job done. That’s after all the body repairs are done as well. Our specialty is insurance claims and collision repairs, so we usually only paint the panels that are covered in the loss repair that the insurance company covers, or what’s required to match the finish.
