What do I do after an accident?
Take as many details and photos as you can at the scene, call your insurer, then call us.

How do I book an appointment for auto body estimate or repairs?
Call or text Craftsman Collision USA at 562-426-BODY (2639) or just come on in.

Do I need to make an appointment first before coming down?
You’re welcome to drop by unannounced, but making an appointment will allow us to prepare, make time for you and therefore improve the quality of your experience.

Can I choose my own collision repair shop?
Yes! After the accident, you can take your vehicle to the auto body shop of your choice no matter what your insurance adjuster may suggest. We have an excellent relationship with all insurance companies and will help you with your claim every step of the way.

Do you work with my insurance company?
Yes again! We have a direct repair relationship with many major insurance providers - meaning most repairs will be automatically processed and we can start repairs right away. Some insurance companies may want an estimate first before approving repairs which we can help you facilitate.  Either way we'll take car of it all for you.

How long will my appointment take?
For a direct repair drop off, allow about 20 minutes for us to check you in, go over your car with you to ensure we address all your concerns. If you require an estimate, we normally require about 30 minutes to do a thorough estimate and to review next steps with you.

What if my frame is damaged?
Then you came to the right place! Craftsman has the best available technology to repair both traditional frames and today’s more common unibody construction. Our shops are equipped with both the world-renowned Chief Velocity and the Genesis Eclipse laser measurement system. Both are pinpoint-accurate for measuring deviations from manufacturers’ specifications and restoring your frame or unibody to its original dimensions.

How long will my vehicle be in for repairs?
That mainly depends on the extent of the damage and the availability of parts. Your estimator will be able to give you a good idea of how long your repair will take when you come in for your estimate.

What happens during my repair?
Great question! It begins with a warm welcome when you walk through the door. From there, we'll write an estimate for you with a repair plan and a targeted completion date. During the repairs, we'll keep you updated with our progress and finally we'll deliver the car back to you looking like it did before the accident. Check out this page for more details.

Are all the parts going to be original factory parts?
Your insurance company determines what parts will be included on the repair. Where new parts are required we order genuine parts from local dealerships and/or CAPA certified aftermarket parts from our local supplier. In some cases used parts are requested by the insurance company and we ensure that they are factory parts from a similar or newer vehicle. No matter what parts are replaced on your vehicle all our repairs carry a lifetime guarantee to ensure your peace of mind.

Can somebody else bring the vehicle in for insurance claim-related repairs (sign and pay deductible if needed – boyfriend, dad, sister, friend)?
Yes, the person dropping off the car doesn’t have to be the person driving when the damage occurred, but the repair needs to be authorized by the registered owner or principal driver.

When do I pay my deductible?
You pay your deductible to us upon the satisfactory completion of your repair and vehicle delivery. If the deductible has not been waived, you are required to pay it and seek reimbursement from your insurance company or your insurance company if you are not at fault. Please be advised that we do not accept personal checks.

What do I do if the deductible has not been waived and I am not at fault?
We can proceed with the repairs and release the vehicle to you but you will have to pay your deductible if it's still not waived at the time of vehicle delivery. Once your insurance company decides that you are not at fault, they will reimburse you directly for the paid deductible - or if the vehicle is still being repaired, they may pay the deductible directly to us.

Wow, my freshly painted vehicle looks like new! How soon can I wash it?
You can wash it right away using only water or water and a mild kitchen detergent. But we recommend waiting one month before applying any polishes or protectors.
