  • The Mini Cooper Convertible

This beauty is one of the most affordable and enjoyable cars to buy. It is one of the most enjoyable cars to drive as well. Its unique manual roof mechanism feature keeps it light. This brings the total weight to less than a ton. Its impeccable balance puts you at the center of action while it is imbued with just enough power to make driving not only entertaining but very safe. Car and Driver magazine has the Cooper convertible on their ‘most fun under $25,000’ list.

  • The Fiat 124 spider

The Fiat 127 spider is similar to the Mazda MX-5 sharing most of the same properties. It also feels sharp and smooth on the road. It gives great value for money too. With a well-built interior, it has only one engine in its range: 1.4 litre turbocharged engine capable of 44.1 mpg. This car is a stylish and quick baby that is great to drive under $30k.

  • The Volkswagen Beetle Convertible 1.8TS

This baby has the following standard safety features; brake assist, daytime running lights and a post collision safety system. It comes with a front drive compact car that is a two door affair with either a hatch or a convertible. The VW Beetle even comes in a limited Turbo Denim Edition if you’re feeling funky.

  • The Mercedes Benz SL Class SLC300

Although this car falls under the category of luxury sports car, it is one of the must haves for summer if you are thinking luxury plus safety. It comes with a good number of safety features such as blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning and xenon/HD/LED Lights. It creeps up over the $50,000 mark but if you’ve got it, have fun with it!

  • The Porsche 718 Boxster convertible

Die hard lovers of Porsche may not be excited about the switch from the flat- six to four cylinder engine in this particular model but, according to car experts Car and Driver, it hasn’t lost any of its dynamic perfection. Though it has lost a bit of its growl, improvements have been made everywhere else. This model comes with a luxury interior, greater speed and engines that are more efficient than they used to be.
